Hurry…Tomorrow’s the Last Day!

Tomorrow is the last day to enter your drawing in our Show Your Love for Books contest, where children ages 12 and under can exercise their creative skills by dressing up our store’s namesake–the manatee–as their favorite picture book or chapter book character! Personally, I think the manatee would look stunning in a Cinderella ballgown, or very dashing in the debonair cloak of Sherlock Holmes. But it’s up to you to decide how to make the manatee look like your favorite character.

You can dress up the manatee using any media you like, except of course photocopies from the book you’re drawing your inspiration from. Drop off your entry at the store, or scan and email your entry to by February 26th (that’s tomorrow!) to be considered for the grand prize–a $25 gift card to Blue Manatee!! Not to mention the fame and glory of having your artistry featured right here on our blog (in addition to our Facebook and Twitter pages) for all the world to see! For the official rules and entry form click here.

Two winners will be announced at the Show Your Love for Books Party this Thursday, February 28th at 5pm. You don’t need to be present to win, but hey, it is a party, so why not be there to claim your prize and celebrate your love for books? We will select one winner from each of the two categories: picture book character and chapter book character. Thanks to all of you who have already entered the contest–our manatee is looking good! So, as the contest nears its end, get that last minute creativity flowing (and believe me, I know all about last minute creativity!). And as always: Best of luck to you all!!
