As today is the first Monday after moving the clocks forward, I bet I won’t be the only one hiding a yawn or two. Yes, losing an hour of sleep doesn’t seem as though it should be a problem, and certainly by all rights I should be caught up on sleep by today, and yet, at this time every year I always find myself yearning for a nap. As it happens, today just happens to be national Napping Day. A happy coincidence? I think not.
So, on this day, I propose that we all take a page (not literally of course) from the book The Napping House by Audrey Wood, and like the book’s characters, snuggle in for a much needed nap. You can pretend you’re the snoring granny, or the dreaming child, or the dozing dog, or the snoozing cat, or the slumbering mouse and have a nice little repose on a cozy bed in a “napping house, where everyone is sleeping.” Just watch out for any wakeful fleas!
